Kara practices in the firm�s Public Law Practice Group. Her practice includes transactional, advisory and litigation matters for both public agencies and private entities. Kara currently serves as City Attorney for the City of Rio Vista, Assistant City Attorney to the cities of Davis and Marysville, and as General Counsel to the First Five Yuba Commission.
Kara regularly advises clients on conflicts of interest, elections, land use, compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), and open government laws. She also has negotiated and drafted conservation easements. Kara has litigated cases involving redevelopment plan amendments, elections, contract disputes, and the California Environmental Quality Act, including representing a citizen group in County of Amador v. City of Plymouth (2007) 149 Cal.App.4th 1089.
Prior to joining the firm, Kara worked as a staff attorney for the League of California Cities and served as a Senate Fellow at the State Capitol. |
