Milton Carroll is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Health Care Service Corporation; he has been a member of the board since 1998. Mr. Carroll also serves as Chairman of the Board of CenterPoint Energy, Inc.(NYSE) and as a Director of EGL, Inc.(NASDAQ) and Haliburton, Inc. (NYSE).
Mr. Carroll is the founder and Chairman of Instrument Products, Inc., a company which specializes in manufacturing oil field equipment.
At various times from 1985 to 2006, Mr. Carroll served on the Board of Directors of PanEnergy Corp., the Federal Reserve Bank of Houston and Dallas, Devon Energy Corporation (NYSE), TEPPCO Partners, L.P., DCP Midstream Partners, L.P.(NYSE) and as Chairman of the Houston Endowment Foundation, and as Chairman of the Texas Southern University Board of Regents. He is also a former Port Commissioner of the Port of Houston Authority.
Mr. Carroll earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology from Texas Southern University.
