Mindy B. Haas is a Senior Vice President and Senior Underwriting Counsel at First Americans New York City office. She has served as Secretary and Director to the Board of Directors for 10 years and is now a Director of the New York Company.
Prior to joining First American, Ms. Haas was a Partner at Preferred Land Title Services, Inc. First American acquired Preferred Land Title in 1992.
Ms. Haas has been active in starting several company initiatives at First American Title Insurance Company of New York. She spearheaded a tuition assistance program for all employees and an internal newsletter, amongst her many other accomplishments. She has also written several articles pertaining to international title insurance as well as a binder on An Overview of Transfer Taxes imposed by the Fifty States. which was the precursor to the First American Title Insurance Company web-based analysis.
Ms. Haas received a B.A. Degree in Political Science from Stony Brook University where she graduated magna cum laude and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. She has a law degree from Hofstra University and is admitted to the bar in the State of New York.
Ms. Haas lives with her husband in Putnam County, New York.
