Mindy received her M.S. in Swine Nutrition from Kansas State University in 1996.
Mindy obtained her A.G.S. degree from Northeastern Junior College in 1991 and her B.S. degree in Animal Science from Colorado State University in 1993. While earning her Masters Degree at Kansas State University, Mindy�s research focused on effects of dietary lysine concentrations and slaughter weight on growth performance, and carcass characteristics in barrows and inact males. She also conducted research on effect of feeder design, pelleting, and season on growth performance and water use of finishing pigs. Her nursery efforts at K-State involved determining effects of various carbohydrate sources on growth performance of weanling pigs. She has authored and published scientific articles, university reports, numerous abstracts and presented research at several scientific meetings.
Prior to her nutritionist position, Mindy worked as a research associate for 7 years at Akey. During this time, Mindy was responsible for statistically analyzing data and generating research reports for over 52 experiments annually.
Mindy has also served as an assistant farrowing manager of a large commercial swine operation in Colorado. |
