Minister Nazer is a former Oil Minister of Saudi Arabia (1986-1995) and ex-chairman of Saudi Aramco, the largest oil company in the world. Minister Nazer currently heads the Nazer Group, a diverse holding company, with various interests in information technology, healthcare and property development, and remains one of the world's most respected oil experts. He is regularly pursued for advice on energy issues by major oil companies and governments across the globe. Minister Nazer is also an accomplished author, having recently published the book, Power of a Third Kind.
Beginning his career in the oil industry in the early 1960s, Minister Nazer was the first governor to represent Saudi Arabia on the OPEC Board of Governors. When Minister Nazer became Oil Minister in 1986, he presided over the restructuring and integration of the Saudi oil industry. In 1989, Minister Nazer was named the first Saudi Chairman of the Board of the newly established Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco). Minister Nazer completed his studies at UCLA, receiving a B.A. with honors in International Relations and an M.A. in Political Science. He holds Honorary Doctor of Law degrees from the University of Korea and the American University in Cairo. |
