A partner in the firm and chair of the Employment/Labor Law Group, Ms. Du concentrates her practice in litigation, ranging from commercial to employment. She represents clients in federal and state courts and arbitration. Her experience covers every phase of litigation, from discovery, motion practice and jury trial through appeal before the Nevada Supreme Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Ms. Du heads up the firm's Employment/Labor Law Group/ Her employment practice focuses primarily on representation of management, including litigating discrimination claims in state and federal courts; defending charges before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Nevada Equal Rights Commission; counseling employers in personnel issues, conducting investigation of illegal harassment complaints, and evaluating demotion and termination decisions; and advising clients on collective bargaining unit grievances and other issues. Ms. Du has enjoyed success with summary judgment practice, particularly in employment cases, and has successfully tried a number of cases to completion via jury trial.
Ms. Du serves as a commissioner on the Nevada Commission on Economic Development. She is also a member of the PackPAWS Advisory Board, an organization affiliated with the University of Nevada to promote women intercollegiate athletics. In 2008, she was selected as one of the 20 Under 40, which honors young professionals under 40 years old in the Reno-Tahoe area. |
