Dr Kamal is board certified in anatomic pathology. He received his medical degree from Cairo University School of Medicine, Cairo, Egypt. He completed pathology training at Harbor UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, Calif, and subspecialty training in the Klaus Lewin Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology Fellowship Program at UCLA. He has research interests in the areas of gastrointestinal and liver pathology and medical device technology. His current research activity is in Barrett�s esophagus and associated dysplastic and neoplastic changes. Dr Kamal has lectured on various topics in gastrointestinal and liver pathology, including inflammatory bowel disease, fatty liver disease, improving the quality of gastrointestinal biopsies, and improving communication with clinicians. |
