Ms. Tate has been engaging in the practice of law for over twenty years. She is a partner with Fearnley, Califf, Martin, McDonald, Tate, & Kimbrow, a regional Law Firm engaging in the practice of law involving the development, zoning, sale, or exchange, and financing of real property, commercial and residential. Her law practice is primarily in the area of real estate transactions including development, zoning construction, and financing. As a former City attorney for the City of Memphis , Ms. Tate provided legal counsel to the Mayor and City Council on various commercial transactions, contract, environments, real estate, and zoning issues. Ms. Tate also landed the lucrative NBA arena closing for the City of Memphis.
She is Past-President of the National Bar Association and a member of the American, Tennessee and Memphis Bar Associations, and the Association for Women Attorney�s. She is Past Chair of Memphis Area Legal Services, Memphis Street Law, Inc., and Leadership Memphis Alumni Association, and served on the Board of Trustees of the International Lawyer�s Association. Tate currently serves on the Boards of the Leadership Memphis Institute, the Law Library Commission, and Wesley Housing Corporation. She also serves as Chairman of the City�s housing financing agency, the Health, Education, Housing Facilities Board and is a member of the Hearing Panel for the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility.
Ms. Tate received her B.S. degree in Psychology in 1975 from the University of Tennessee at Martin, her Masters of Science in Social Work Administration in 1978 from the University of Tennessee Center for the Health Sciences, and J.D. in 1982 from the University of Memphis School of Law. |
