Montieth "Monty" Estes is a partner in Jaeckle Fleischmann, a director of Medgraph Incorporated and represents the Company as its corporate council. Monty served four years as Of Counsel with Boylan, Brown, Code, Vigdor & Wilson in Rochester, NY. He concentrates his practice on advising emerging technology companies, including high tech start-ups, on legal and business issues, including how to develop and protect their intellectual property assets and how to secure stages of funding.
Monty started his legal career in 1969 with the Rochester law firm of Harris Beach as an associate and then a partner. He then joined Boylan Brown, gaining extensive experience as an executive and director of a number of public and private companies, as well as financial service firms. He has served as Vice-President and General Counsel for Fourth Dimension Systems Corp., a Naples, Florida-based ultrasound and electromagnetic wave technology supplier to the telecommunications and radar industries.
Monty has also held the positions as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Optical Imaging Systems, Inc., a flat panel display manufacturer in Troy, Michigan; and Chief Operating Officer of Scientific Calculations, Inc., a CAD/CAM systems developer and vendor for electronic circuit and integrated circuit designers. Under Monty's direction, the company expanded its facilities across the United States, including Silicon Valley, Dallas, Chicago, Ft. Lauderdale, Boston and Washington DC, expanding its client base to major electronics firms, defense firms, NASA, the Air Force, and Research Labs. Monty oversaw the opening of locations in London, Paris, Cologne, Rome, Tel-Aviv, and Stockholm, as well as Tokyo, Seoul, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Scientific Calculations dominated printed circuit design worldwide and was subsequently acquired by the Harris Corporation.
Monty has also held positions at Manning & Napier and Equitable prior to returning to Rochester in 2000.
He was responsible for all software development; hardware design and manufacturing, new product introductions, finance, Human Resources, all international operations, as well as a joint venture with Digital Equipment Corp, and a joint marketing agreement with Prime Computer Company.
Monty earned a B.Ch.E.in 1965 and M.Ch.E. in 1966 from Cornell University and a J.D. from Harvard University in 1969. |
