Myron L. Weisfeldt, M.D. was named the William Osler Professor of Medicine and Chairman of the Department of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 2001. In these positions, he heads the largest department at the university and serves as physician-in-chief at the hospital. Prior to this position, he was the Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Columbia University. Mike is a past President of the American Heart Association and a past Chairman of the Cardiology Advisory Board of the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute. Mike was recently elected to the prestigious Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences. Mike has broad interests in cardiovascular drugs and devices and serves on the scientific advisory boards of several major pharmaceutical companies and a number of cardiovascular device companies. Mike received a B.A. from Johns Hopkins University and an M.D. from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He trained in Cardiology at Massachusetts General Hospital and the National Institutes of Health. |
