She now is a senior advisor to JPMorgan Partners, LLC, in Washington, D.C.
DeParle served as administrator of the HCFA from 1997 to October 2000. In this role, she was responsible for the nations largest health insurance program and a key health policy advisor to former President Clinton. She is also a Commissioner of the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC), which advises Congress on Medicare policy and payment issues.
Nancy-Ann is one of the top health care policy experts in the country, said Neal Patterson, Cerner chairman and chief executive officer. Her leadership at the most influential health care agency in America and her vast knowledge of health care trends is highly regarded and a significant addition to our board. Also, her eight years with the Clinton administration will prove helpful as Cerner deals with the regulatory environment, including the HIPAA privacy rules and the possibility of future patient safety legislation.
Nancy-Ann understands Cerners mission to transform health care, added Patterson. More importantly, she recognizes the role of technology as a change agent to revolutionize the way health care is practiced. She will provide vital perspective regarding how Cerner should continually develop its solutions to meet the evolving needs of our clients, the nations health care organizations.
