Nancy Ranchel is a director in the Lake Oswego, Oregon office of Bates Private Capital, an LECG company, where she uses her accounting and tax background to provide consulting and manage forensic investigatory engagements mainly related to financial litigation cases. Ms. Ranchel has testified as a quantitative expert in the area of retail securities litigation on over 35 occasions. Prior to the acquisition by LECG, Ms. Ranchel was a managing director of Bates Private Capital Incorporated, a firm that provided litigation consulting, financial analysis, market trend research, and expert witness testimony for securities and other financial-related matters.
Ms. Ranchel started her career at Arthur Andersen & Co., where she first provided litigation consulting for a project out of the New York office. The assignment included database development and review, and consulting with lawyers to track pertinent case information. Ms. Ranchel then worked in the Tax Department of the Portland, Oregon office of Arthur Andersen & Co. where she was responsible for financial statement audits, tax and business consulting to corporations, partnerships and individual clients regarding business planning, tax planning and compliance, as well as state and local tax consulting. Additionally, Ms. Ranchel was involved in extensive communication before the Internal Revenue Service and state taxing authorities on behalf of clients. |
