Natalie Nathanson is an associate in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Firm�s Chicago office. As a member of the Employee Benefits Department, Natalie�s practice is concentrated primarily on designing, amending and administering pension plans, profit sharing plans, 401(k) plans, cafeteria plans, welfare benefit plans and nonqualified deferred compensation arrangements. She counsels privately and publicly-held corporations and tax-exempt entities regarding fiduciary issues under ERISA, employee benefits issues involved in corporate transactions, and executive compensation matters. Natalie also has experience counseling plan fiduciaries with respect to the claims and appeals procedures under ERISA.
Natalie has dealt with the Internal Revenue Service under various circumstances, including Employee Plans Compliance Resolution System (EPCRS) filings and applications for tax-qualification determination letters. She has also represented clients in negotiations with the Department of Labor in connection with Voluntary Fiduciary Correction Program filings.
Natalie is a Contributing Editor of The Guide to Assigning & Loaning Benefit Plan Money, which is published and updated quarterly by Thompson Publishing Group, Inc.
Natalie is a member of the Firm�s Pro Bono & Community Service Committee, and is involved with a number of pro bono organizations including the Tax Assistance Program.
Natalie is a Certified Public Accountant. She is admitted to practice before the Illinois Bar.
