Nate Thorne is a Senior Vice President of Merrill Lynch and President of Merrill Lynch Global Private Equity.
Since joining Merrill Lynch in 1984, Nate has served in a number of senior positions within Investment Banking, including head of the High Yield Finance and Restructuring Group, and head of Corporate Finance, High Yield Finance and Real Estate. In 1987, he founded the Financial Restructuring Group.
Thorne earned a B.A. degree in English Language and Literature from Yale College in 1976. Nate was raised in Oakland, California, but has lived in New York City for some 30 years.
A true passion for Nate is the New York area schools. With his wife, Margie, he has worked to build, manage and support various organizations to augment the school systems. Their vision is to provide a better education to children who otherwise would not develop the necessary skills for success.
Nate is a proud father of two grown sons. An ideal vacation may be to new or exotic ports of call, but for relaxation, a hike in the great outdoors is in order.
Nate says his proudest professional achievement is the recent merger with HCA. The smooth partnership between the HCA management team and the sponsor groups made the transaction enjoyable. On top of that, the merger was history's biggest yet. |
