Nathan Hunter is leading all of Pinnacle's efforts in the Knoxville market as Pinnacle Knoxville's president. With more than 30 years of financial services expertise, he was most recently an executive vice president at SunTrust Bank, overseeing the retail line of business in the East Tennessee region since 2001.
Prior to that, he was commercial and corporate banking department head for SunTrust for 12 years, following three years as a commercial relationship manager. Hunter launched his career with the Tennessee Department of Banking, where he had oversight for safety and soundness examinations for banks in the Upper East Tennessee region.
Hunter is the chairman of the financial committee for The Baptist Health System of East Tennessee. A member and deacon at Central Baptist Church of Bearden, he has served in leadership roles with the Chamber of Commerce, United Way, Junior Achievement, Boy Scouts, Exchange Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the UT Quarterback Club.
Hunter is a graduate of the University of Tennessee in banking and finance. His post-graduate studies include LSU School of Banking of the South and the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business.
