Neil J. Nelson is president and CEO of Siltronic Corp., formerly Wacker Siltronic Corp., a global leader in the market for ultra-pure silicon wafers and the partner of numerous leading chip manufacturers. Siltronic develops and manufactures wafers at production sites in Europe, Asia, Japan and the United States.
Nelson joined Siltronic in 2000 and became president and CEO in 2003. From 2002 to 2003, he was vice president of the Standard Wafer International business unit, providing worldwide coordination of manufacturing facilities in Japan, the United States and Germany. From 2000 through 2002, he held the position of vice president of operations for Siltronic's Fab1 located in Portland, Ore.
From 1987 through 2000, Nelson served in various positions with Mitsubishi Silicon America in Salem, Ore., including vice president of operations. He serves on the boards of directors for Siltronic Corp., Oregon Business Council and Associated Oregon Industries.
Nelson received his bachelor of science in chemical engineering from Brigham Young University. He resides in Keizer, Ore.
