Neil J Wertlieb is a Partner in the Los Angeles office of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP. Mr. Wertlieb's practice focuses on corporate transactions, primarily acquisitions and securities offerings. He has represented clients in a wide variety of business matters, including formation and early round financings, mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, international securities offerings and other international transactions, fund formations, joint ventures, partnerships and limited liability companies, reorganizations and restructurings, independent investigations and general corporate and contractual matters.
Mr. Wertlieb joined Milbank in 1995. Prior to that time, he was the General Counsel for a large public telecommunications and broadcast company, representing the company in numerous acquisitions and securities offerings, including the second largest equity offering by a NASDAQ-listed company. He also served as the General Counsel and a member of the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Kings Hockey Team.
Mr. Wertlieb is an Adjunct Professor of Law at the UCLA School of Law, the Chairman of the Business Law Section of the State Bar of California and a former Chairman of the Corporations Committee of the State Bar. In addition to teaching corporate transactions at UCLA, Mr. Wertlieb is a frequent public speaker on such topics as venture capital financing and acquisitions, and was recognized as one of the top 100 most influential lawyers in California (California Law Business, October 30, 2000).
Mr. Wertlieb received his law degree in 1984 UC Berkeley School of Law, where he served as an Associate Editor on Law Review. He graduated with honors in Management Science from the School of Business Administration at the University of California, Berkeley. Mr. Wertlieb also served as a Judicial Extern for Justice Stanley Mosk on the California Supreme Court. |
