Mr. Burger is an associate at Carrington Coleman. His practice encompasses the representation of plaintiffs and defendants in a broad variety of commercial lawsuits, including breach of contract, employment non-compete, trade secrets, fiduciary duty, securities, tortious interference, personal injury, and discrimination claims. Representative of his work, Mr. Burger successfully obtained a temporary restraining order, writ of sequestration, and permanent injunction to prevent a client's former employee from using or disclosing the company's unlawfully obtained trade secrets. Texas Monthly magazine named him a "Rising Star" in business litigation for 2007. Mr. Burger's litigation experience has included cases in state and federal court, at both the trial and appellate levels, representing companies and individuals based in Texas and elsewhere in the United States, Europe, and Asia. He also was part of a team of Carrington Coleman attorneys who successfully litigated to commute the sentence of an inmate who had spent over 15 years on Texas Death Row. Prior to joining Carrington Coleman, Mr. Burger was a law clerk to the Honorable Richard A. Schell of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. He received a bachelor's degree from Emory University in 1998 and a law degree from Southern Methodist University in 2002, graduating magna cum laude and earning a membership in the Order of the Coif. Mr. Burger was admitted to practice law in Texas in 2002, and is also admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, Southern, and Western Districts of Texas, and the Fifth and Sixth United States Circuit Courts of Appeal. |
