As vice president of Global Supply Chain, Nick Athanasakos is responsible for making the supply chain a competitive advantage for Nike globally. His two goals are to make Nike the industry leader in operational excellence and enhance the Nike brand through its supply chain capabilities. His job involves promoting comprehensive supply chain initiatives that support Nike�s global business strategies and making sure that company is aligned cross functionally from an execution perspective.
Before joining Nike, Nick worked as a staff engineer and plant manager for Avery Denison from 1988 to 1994. He also worked as an associate engineer and manufacturing team lead for Frito Lay, Inc. from 1986 to 1988.
Outside of Nike, Nick enjoys camping, skiing, and youth sports with his wife Jane, his son Tony, and daughter Hope.
Nick�s favorite Nike innovation is the Nike Shox/Zoom Air combination. Shox is amazing because of the dedication of a few individuals to not give up and continue to refine an idea that they believed in for 17 years, he said. Zoom is a great performance technology because you get the low-profile cushioning with the benefits of air. Together in the same shoe, it�s a killer combination!
