Nikolaus P. Schibli is a patent agent in the firm's Electrical/Mechanical Practice Group, focusing on all aspects of patent prosecution. His broad technical experience includes the areas of electronics, power converters, power generation, control systems, image processing, algorithms, optoelectronics and vision systems. His professional experience includes scientific research projects for the companies Bombardier Transportation and ABB. He is also a founder of a company active in the fields of image processing and embedded computer systems, where he worked as a support manager and business developer before joining the firm.
Dr. Schibli received a Ph.D. in power electronics and control systems from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) in Lausanne, Switzerland, where he worked on power inverters for locomotives and drives. He holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering of the ETH Z�rich, Switzerland.
Dr. Schibli has published numerous scientific publications in the fields of power electronics, control systems, image processing, image sensors and vision, and holds three patents based on his research. He was awarded the 1999 Prize Paper Award for the best annual publication by the IEEE power electronics society (PELS). He is a member of the IEEE and a student member of the ABA. He is also fluent in German, French and Italian.
Dr. Schibli is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He is currently a J.D. candidate at the George Washington University Law School. |
