As Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel, Government Contracts, Major General Nolan Sklute, (U.S. Air Force, retired) oversees all administrative and federal government contract activities for Enterra. Gen. Sklute brings over 40 years of legal experience to his position. Gen. Sklute previously served as Air Force Judge Advocate General, the chief military attorney for the Air Force, and was legal advisor to the Air Force Chief of Staff and senior Air Force leaders. He was responsible for the delivery of a full range of legal services Air Force-wide, and functionally supervised a legal organization with over 2500 military and civilian attorneys in 150 offices throughout the world. During his career, Gen. Sklute served as the Chief Counsel for what was then Air Force Logistics Command, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio - a multibillion dollar logistics organization with over 80,000 civilian employees. While in this position, he was also assigned as the Commander of the Air Force Contract Law Center which, among other functions, was responsible for representing Air Force interests in administrative proceedings before the Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals. He also served as the Director of Air Staff organizations responsible for providing legal support in all civil litigation involving the Air Force, including such areas as contracts, environmental, utilities, torts, and labor-management relations. Following his retirement from the Air Force, Gen. Sklute engaged in the private practice of law focused exclusively on federal government contracts, where he represented the interests of federal government contractors before administrative tribunals, primarily in bid protests, claims, and a variety of business issues. Gen. Sklute holds a B.A. from Union College in Schenectady, New York, and a J.D. from Cornell Law School. He received his LLM in Government Contracts from George Washington University. He is also a graduate of the National War College and the Armed Forces Staff College. Among his civic and professional activities, Gen. Sklute serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Judge Advocates Association and is a trustee of the Air Force Judge Advocate General School Foundation. He is also a member of the Cornell Law School Association, the Air Force Association, and the National War College Alumni Association. |
