Norma Formanek, Senior Vice President and General Counsel, joined the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) in 2003. She is responsible for EPRI's corporate legal, Washington relations, procurement and contracts groups. She also serves as Corporate Secretary and Chief Compliance Officer. Prior to joining EPRI, Formanek was a partner in the San Francisco law firm of Farella, Braun & Martel LLP, where she chaired the Complex Litigation Department and provided counsel for the California Independent System Operator, among many other clients. A magna cum laude graduate of Hastings College of the Law, she holds a Master of Arts degree in English literature from the University of Houston and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of California, Berkeley. She served as co-chair of the Energy Litigation Committee for the American Bar Association, Section of Litigation. She is a member of the American Corporate Counsel Association and a member of the Mediation Panel for the U.S. District Court, Northern District of California. |
