Norman Cohn, chairman of ASI, was born in Waterloo, Iowa in 1933. He was a senior in high school when he first became involved with promotional products as a Distributor. Then, at the University of Northern Iowa, Cohn moved over to the Supplier side of the business. By the late 1950�s his family owned the largest Supplier in the promotional products industry.

In 1962, the Cohn family sold off their Supplier interests and acquired ASI. Fifteen years later, the Cohns introduced technology to the industry as they began developing computer software (ASI Computer), CD ROM and DVD (ESP), the Internet, (ASInternet), and, more recently, computer integration between Suppliers and Distributors (ASItransact).
Cohn has served on numerous boards, including as an officer of the Young Presidents� Organization. He was an officer of the Great American Achievements Program, a member of the Board of Overseers at the University of Pennsylvania Museum, and represented the state of Pennsylvania on the Commemoration of the Bicentennial of the Constitution, and was the chairman of the Bicentennial Council of the Thirteen Original States.
