Oren Summer is the President of FleetNet America, formerly known as Carolina Breakdown Service, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Arkansas Best Corporation. He has been with this company for thirty years. He started in 1969 as a Management trainee, which led him to the Assistant Manager position for the Outside Maintenance and Fuel department for four years. He served in two manager positions in the Tire/Recapping department, and in the Tractor Maintenance/Unit Rebuild department. From 1986 until 1996, Mr. Summer was the Director of Maintenance for Carolina Freight Carriers. In January 1993, he began working with dual titles when he was named President of Carolina Breakdown Service Incorporated, now known as FleetNet America, Inc., and did so until Carolina Freight was merged into ABF in September 1995.
Mr. Summer is a graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne College with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. He has worked as a Chairman and Treasurer of the American Trucking Association's Maintenance Council, and he is a member of the North Carolina Maintenance Council. |
