Dr. Pamela J. Mink is a Managing Scientist in Exponent's Health Sciences practice. Dr. Mink has experience in the design analysis and interpretation of epidemiologic studies. Much of her research has focused on hormonally related cancers in women and men. In particular she has evaluated the roles of hormone replacement therapy exercise obesity and diet in cancer and other major causes of morbidity and mortality. She has also reviewed epidemiologic studies on occupational and environmental exposures and health-related outcomes. In addition she has conducted analyses of potential sources of bias in studies of low-level environmental exposures and neurobehavioral test performance in children.
Dr. Mink has ten years of training and experience in analyzing and interpreting data from large cohort studies and national data sets. In addition she developed and implemented a protocol for ascertaining cancer cases in a multi-center cohort study and designed and implemented a nested case-control study within this cohort. She has also analyzed data from a cross-sectional study of physicians and patients in a large midwestern health plan to evaluate factors contributing to cancer screening of female patients. |
