Pat Davies was appointed to the board in 1997 and Chief Executive with effect from 1 July 2005. He is also a director of several companies within Sasol. Mr Davies joined Sasol in 1975 and has held various positions in engineering design, project management, operations management and corporate affairs. He is currently responsible for Sasol Petroleum International, Sasol Synfuels International, Sasol Oil, Sasol's gas to liquids and natural gas projects, and Sasol's corporate strategy. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Natal, South Africa and has attended the Management Programme at Harvard Business School in the United States.
