Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles in 1997, Patrick was the Director of Corporate Staffing with a boutique search firm, where he managed senior-level engagements in the consumer packaged goods industry. Projects focused on recruiting professionals that brought technological expertise into sales and marketing roles for his clients.
Patrick Friel has clients in the communications and information technology industries, as well as in government services. He has extensive experience conducting search assignments for executive positions, including general management, sales, marketing and product development. Successful placements include many senior-level roles, such CFO, CIO, COO and CEO. These types of projects require an in-depth understanding of current, cutting-edge technologies and their impact on each client's vision and strategy.
Earlier in his career, Patrick worked for local governments in Virginia, with an emphasis on urban planning and economic development.
