Patricia F. "Trish Wonderley is vice president and assistant general counsel for IHS where she provides legal support to the corporation. She joined the company in 1996, and has held positions with IHS Group, the parent company of IHS, and was general counsel for Petroleum Information/Dwights LLC, which became part of IHS in 1998. Previously, she also served as senior legal counsel for General Electric (Power) and was an attorney with Vinson & Elkins, LLP.
In 1979, Wonderley received her bachelor's degree with distinction in geology and geochemistry from the University of Kentucky, in Lexington, Kentucky, followed by her master's degree from the university in 1982.
She conducted post-graduate work at Memorial University of Newfoundland, in Canada. In 1990, she was awarded her doctorate of jurisprudence degree from the University of Houston Law Center, in Houston, Texas, graduating magna cum laude.
Trish has received numerous academic and professional honors during her law studies including Order of the Coif; Order of the Barons; Chief Casenote and Comment Editor, Houston Law Review; 7 American Jurisprudence Awards; Most Outstanding Intellectual Property Casenote, Houston Law Review 1989 Writing Award; and the 1990 Ethics Award.
At the University of Kentucky, she was named Phi Beta Kappa. Wonderley was also named to the Dean's List, and received numerous awards including the Pirtle Graduate Fellowship; the H.E.W. Scholarship; the Title III Coal Scholarship; the Chevron Award; the Chevron Graduate Scholarship; the Pirtle Undergraduate Fellowship; and was a member of Delta Phi Alpha and Sigma Gamma Epsilon.
She has written numerous articles on legal issues including trademarks and patents, intellectual property and non-compete. Trish is a member of the copyright, trademark and patent section of the Colorado Bar Association, and is a member of the Houston Bar Association and the Texas Bar Association. |
