Patricia Tennis, PhD, is global head of Epidemiology for RTI Health Solutions. Dr. Tennis came to RTI in 2002 from the pharmaceutical industry where she worked on the design and implementation of drug safety studies and risk management activities relating to use of medications. Much of her work has focused on epilepsy; she has collaborated on several studies of antiepileptic drugs in pregnancy, as well as on safety studies of other medications in areas of neurology, psychiatry, respiratory, and metabolic diseases. She has overseen the conduct of numerous epidemiology studies, and participated in regulatory discussions of drug safety issues with regulatory agencies in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Dr. Tennis was the lead epidemiologist on the GSK Pregnancy Exposure Registries for lamotrigine and bupropion, studies that required coordination across multiple countries and sites. She has been a leader in the field of pharmacoepidemiology and is a fellow of the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology. |
