Patty Walker, Chief Medical Officer, leads Kythera's clinical programs as the company continues its pursuit of novel therapeutics. Prior to joining Kythera, Patty was Executive Vice President and Chief Science Officer responsible for research, development and regulatory affairs at Allergan Medical (formerly known as Inamed Corporation). Prior to joining Inamed, Patty was Vice President, Clinical Research and Development for skin care pharmaceuticals at Allergan, Inc. Over the past 10 years, Patty has led key product approvals in dermatology and aesthetic medicine including the development and approval of Tazorac�, BOTOX� Cosmetic, Hylaform�, Captique�, Juvederm, Bioenterics� LAP-BAND� and Inamed� Silicone gel-filled Breast Implants[1]. Patty earned her MD/PhD (Physiology and Biophysics) at the University of Iowa. Following her degrees she completed a residency in Dermatology and a research fellowship in the Dermatology Branch, National Cancer Institute at the National Institute of Health (NIH). Patty is a board certified Dermatologist. |
