Patrick E. Falconio is a former Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of Aegon USA, Inc. Mr. Falconio joined Aegon USA in 1987 as a Senior Vice President and assumed the CIO duties in 1988. He became Executive Vice President in 1992, serving on Aegon's International Management Board and the Boards of all major Aegon USA subsidiaries until his retirement. During his tenure as Chief Investment Officer, the company's investment assets grew from $3.4 billion to over $160 billionMr. Falconio was a Senior Vice President of Lincoln Financial Corporation from 1977 to 1987, overseeing all investment securities operations. From 1988 to 1999, Mr. Falconio served as Chairman of USP Real Estate Investment Trust and from 1988 to 1997 as chairman of Cedar Income Fund. Each of these REITs was sold at a premium to their market prices. Mr. Falconio is currently a Director and Chairman of the Investment Committee of Financial Industries Corporation, an Austin, Texas based life insurer traded on NASDAQ as well as a Director for Penn Treaty American (NYSE). Mr. Falconio serves on a number of charitable Boards and Investment Committees, including the National Kidney Foundation of Iowa. He formerly served as Chairman of the Life Officers Management Association Investment Committee from 1985-87. Mr. Falconio holds an MBA from the University of Georgia and an AB from Duquesne University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst. |
