President, Howard University (Director since 1996)
Mr. Swygert is President of Howard University, Washington, D.C., a position he has held since August 1995. He was President of the University at Albany, State University of New York, from 1990 to August 1995. Mr. Swygert, who holds a law degree from Howard University, has been a visiting professor and lecturer abroad and is the author of numerous articles and publications on higher education and the law.
Mr. Swygert also is a member of the Boards of Directors of Fannie Mae and United Technologies Corporation. |
