J. Patrick Thompson : Senior Vice President Architecture As Senior Vice President of Architecture, Patrick's role is to provide direction and coordination across the various teams within Channel Intelligence and to chart the long-term direction of the company and the industry with respect to the representation of data and meta data for online retailing. Patrick is a recognized industry expert in the area of user and systems modeling having worked on numerous projects for Unisys and Microsoft. He was one of the initial members of the Microsoft WinFS team that played a pivotal role in the evolution of the latest version of the Windows operating system. He was also a founding member of the Microsoft WMI team and managed or participated in all of the schema work done during the first six years of the WMI initiative. Working for Unisys, Patrick was a senior member of a team that developed a database management system based on the Semantic Data Model implemented on Unisys A Series mainframes, Unix and Windows. Patrick is the author of a book on data modeling as applied to application development and a book on the use of data models in application management and monitoring. He is the author of numerous articles and has presented and taught widely on systems management, data modeling, database design, and transaction processing. Patrick is the holder of three issued patents and is named as co-author on 12 pending patents. |
