Dr Patrick O'Brien is President, CEO and a Director of the Company (elected August 30th 2004). The Company has employed him since January 1st, 2004. His responsibilities include coordinating strategy, planning and product development. Dr O'Brien devotes substantially all of his time to the affairs of NWB, though he continues to practice veterinary medicine on an occasional basis. Dr O'Brien studied at the University of Victoria in the Chemistry Department for the first two years of the Honours Chemistry Program and was awarded numerous scholarships including the medal for the top student in the program in 1983. Due to his high grade point average and related experience, he was fast tracked into the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating with distinction in 1987(at the age of 24). In 2003, Dr O'Brien sold his very successful large animal practice in Courtenay, BC. which he founded in 1992.
