Paul-Michael Rebus is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery UK LLP, based in its London office. He is co-head of the Securitization and Structured Finance group.
Paul-Michael has extensive experience advising programme sponsors in structuring European and US multi-seller asset-backed commercial paper conduits, arbitrage ABCP conduits and structured investment vehicles (SIVs) and advising with respect to New York and English law issues and documentation.
He has acted extensively on behalf of financial institutions in the UK, US, Germany, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Italy, Russia, Kazakhstan and Canada with respect to the securitization (through multi seller asset-backed commercial paper conduits and term structures) of numerous classes of assets including trade receivables, auto receivables, loan receivables, insurance premium receivables, airport lease receivables, commercial mortgages, residential mortgages, credit card receivables and credit interests pursuant to tiered, rated, credit default swaps. Receivables securitized have been generated from numerous jurisdictions throughout Europe, the US and Asia.
Paul-Michael has undertaken numerous publications, presentations and articles on asset-backed commercial paper programmes.
Paul-Michael is described in both Chambers UK and Chambers Global as "a brilliant and knowledgeable securitization lawyer". He is ranked as a leader in his field by Chambers.
Numerous transactions and ABCP conduits Paul-Michael has led have been nominated and won industry related awards for being innovative and unique transactions.
He has been responsible for the development of several securitization teams which have gone on to become industry renowned.
