Mr. Michalik concentrates his practice in the area of personal injury defense, products liability, and general tort litigation. He has significant experience in the area of civil rights litigation, including the defense of municipalities, municipal officials, and police departments. Mr. Michalik also is involved in the areas of professional liability litigation and commercial litigation. In addition to medical malpractice and traditional personal injury cases, he has participated in the defense of claims involving alleged injury from lead poisoning, asbestos, exposure to radiation and pharmaceuticals. Mr. Michalik joined the firm in 1990. He has been involved in all phases of general litigation practice, including appellate work. Prior to joining the firm, he completed a two-year term as law clerk to the Honorable Allen Hartman of the Illinois Appellate Court. Mr. Michalik also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Donald P. O'Connell of the Circuit Court of Cook County while attending law school.
