Dr. Martha has served as our Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President since October 2007. Prior to joining us, Dr. Martha served as Executive Vice President of Research and Development at Chiasma, Inc., a privately-held biopharmaceutical company, which he joined in March 2007. Prior to joining Chiasma, Dr. Martha served as the Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President of Shire Human Genetic Therapies, formerly Transkaryotic Therapies, Inc., which he joined in January 2004. At Transkaryotic Therapies, Inc., Dr. Martha focused on clinical development activities, culminating in successful FDA and EMEA product submissions and approvals. From November 2000 to December 2003, Dr. Martha served as Chief Medical and Regulatory Officer at Interleukin Genetics, Inc. and prior to that has held other industry positions at companies including Genentech, Inc. and has served on the faculties of Tufts University School of Medicine and The University of Virginia School of Medicine. He is co-author of over 50 scientific publications in leading journals. Dr. Martha holds a B.S.in Biology from Trinity College and an M.D. from the University of Connecticut, School of Medicine. |
