Dr. Paul Taylor is a Principal Engineer in Exponent's Thermal Sciences practice. Dr. Taylor specializes in the investigation of accidents involving mechanical design fires and explosions. Much of his research focuses on engineering analyses and laboratory investigations involving heat transfer thermodynamics flows of liquids and gases fire growth and diffusion and dispersion of gases and aerosols. His work also includes projects in the areas of mechanical components and systems testing and he has specialized expertise in the investigation of products and systems failures in the consumer industrial and transportation environments with particular expertise in heating equipment fuel systems including propane and natural gas and energy storage systems. Prior to joining Exponent Dr. Taylor was an Independent Engineering Consultant. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University. |
