Paul Giordano is president, chief executive officer and a director of Security Capital Assurance Ltd. (SCA), and chairman and chief executive officer of XL Capital Assurance (XLCA). Previously, Mr. Giordano served since November 2004 as the chief executive of XL Capital Ltd's Financial Products & Services (FP&S) segment. He was an integral part of the creation of XL Capital's financial guarantee business in 1998 when he was XL Capital's general counsel. From January 1997 through October 2004, Mr. Giordano served as executive vice president, general counsel and secretary of XL Capital. Mr. Giordano has been a member of XL Capital s Executive Management Board since 1997 and a member of XL Capital s Credit Committee since 1999. Prior to joining XL Capital, Mr. Giordano was in private practice at the law firms of Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton, and Clifford Chance. Mr. Giordano received a B.A. from the University of Missouri and a B.A. from Oxford University, where he was a Rhodes Scholar. He received a J.D. from Harvard Law School. He is a director of the boards of SCA and XLCA, and has also been a director of Primus Guaranty Ltd. since May 2005. |
