Dr. Tucker is corporate vice president, corporate development, reporting to the chief executive officer of CSC. As the officer responsible for identifying, negotiating and closing all acquisitions and related transactions that drive CSC's growth strategies, he has led the acquisition and divestiture of several operating units. Dr. Tucker is also responsible for the strategic planning process and serves as a member of the CEO's CSC Global Issues Team.
Dr. Tucker brings more than 30 years of senior management experience in the corporate, entrepreneurial and academic arenas to CSC's corporate development process, including extensive work outside of the United States. Dr. Tucker joined CSC in 1996 after serving as president and chief executive officer of Knight-Ridder Financial (KRF), now a part of Bridge Financial Services, an electronic real-time financial market information company that competes with firms such as Reuters and Bloomberg in the global information market. As KRF's top executive, Dr. Tucker oversaw the firm's creation, development and growth into a global competitor prior to its divestiture by Knight-Ridder. In addition to his operating responsibilities, he was responsible for KRF's global strategy and acquisition programs as well. Prior to joining Knight-Ridder, Dr. Tucker was founder of and served as president and chief technologist of HAL Communications Corp., an entrepreneurial communications hardware and software company specializing in radio telecommunications. Dr. Tucker divested of HAL Communications prior to joining KRF.
Dr. Tucker was also an associate professor and senior research engineer at the University of Illinois. He holds bachelor's, master's and Ph.D. degrees in computer science/electrical engineering from the University of Illinois. He also has an executive MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Dr. Tucker holds several patents in the computer, digital display and telecommunications fields. |
