Paul V. Fant, 54, graduated from North Carolina State University in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering. He has over 30 years of experience working in the utilities industry including more than 28 years of service at SCANA and its subsidiaries. Fant has served in a variety of leadership positions at SCANA to include President & COO of SC Pipeline Corporation and SCG Pipeline, Inc. These companies merged to form Carolina Gas Transmission, an interstate company, in November of 2006. Fant�s current responsibilities include executive oversight for engineering, system and operations planning, customer service and business development, and management of design, construction, operation, and maintenance, for Carolina Gas Transmission pipeline operating in South Carolina and Georgia. Fant is active in the local community, currently serving on the board of directors of the Palmetto Health Foundation, Columbia Urban League, Heathwood Hall Episcopal School, and HOPE Worldwide of S.C. He serves as vice chairman of the board for Claflin University and as chairman emeritus of the board for United Way of the Midlands. Fant also serves on the business advisory board of S.C. State University and on the board of trustees of the S.C. Research Authority.
