Paul Goldberg completed his eighth season with the Avalanche, joining the organization in the summer of 1999 as Strength and Conditioning Coach.
In his position, Paul oversees the year-round conditioning program of players throughout the Avalanche system and works closely with the team medical staff on player rehabilitation needs. He also constructs the summer workout regime for all the players, specifying the workouts and conditioning programs to the specific individual needs of each player.
Born in Escondido, Calif., Goldberg, 39, earned his BS in Physiology at the Western State College of Colorado and his masters degree in nutrition and exercise at Colorado State University. Before joining the Avalanche training staff, Goldberg served as assistant strength coach at Colorado State for four years and as head strength coach at Eastern Michigan University for one year. Paul is certified by the American Dietetics Association as a registered dietitian, the National Strength & Conditioning Association, and USA Weightlifting - Level I.
Paul and his wife, Teri, have a one-year old daughter, Tommie Helena. The family resides in Evergreen with their two dogs, Denali and Sebastian. |
