Paul Ricci (pronounced RICH-ee), entered his 5th year as assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Ravens in 2006...Ricci redesigned and improved the Ravens core-training regimen to include more exercises that functionally train the athletes, transferring more elements practiced in the weight room to the field...He works closely with strength coach Jeff Friday at the Ravens' state-of-the-art weight training room and helps players achieve their individualized workout goals - objectives which he helps to set and update.
OVERVIEW: The Ravens' highly-attended offseason strength and conditioning program for players, which Ricci helps to coordinate, begins in March and continues through June...Programmed workouts individualized for each player continue throughout the season...Worked part-time with the Ravens from 1999 to 2001...Ricci has held part-time positions with the San Diego Padres (spring training, 1997), Philadelphia Eagles (1995-96), and Seattle Seahawks (1993).
2002-05: (with Baltimore) 2005: Designed one of the NFL's premier grip and forearm strength-training regimens, which helps improve strength and flexibility of lower arms...Ravens utilize regimens to develop grip and forearm exercises for flexible functionality for football. 2004: Helped introduce new elements to the conditioning program with the addition of spin-cycling, yoga and kickboxing. 2003: Instituted a cutting-edge, core-training regimen to help supplement the Ravens' highly successful strength and conditioning program. 2002: Named assistant strength and conditioning coach.
1997-2001: (part-time Baltimore) 1999-2001: Worked part-time with the Ravens. 1997-2001: Ricci owned and operated a successful personal training business in Southern New Jersey for several years.
1996: (with Arizona) 1-year stint as the assistant strength and conditioning coach.

PERSONAL: A 1993 graduate of Temple...Holds a bachelor of science degree in exercise science and leadership...Attended Penn State (1988-89), and specialized in a study course of exercise and sports science...In 1989, suffered a shoulder injury, which cut short his stint as an OL for the Nittany Lions...Completed his master's degree in education with an emphasis in athletic administration and leadership from Goucher College in May 2005...Earned All-South Jersey honors as a senior captain at Washington Township (Sewell, NJ) HS...Team won the Group 4 championship in 1988...Partnered with Gymsource to help equip and design their main gym and aerobic center for the Baltimore City Police Dept. to help police officers deal with the stress and daily rigors of their jobs...Paul and wife, Elizabeth, make their home in Reisterstown, MD. |
