Paul Vogel was named Managing Director and Senior Vice President of the Postal Service's new Global Business organization in July 2006. In this role, Vogel will create and lead Global Business to manage the Postal Service's worldwide trade with a focus on international business management, international financial and commercial analysis, global network strategy and technology, international relations and international operations, including the Postal Service�s five International Service Centers.
Earlier, Vogel served as vice president, Network Operations Management, since October 2000 and was responsible for the national network of 350 mail processing and distribution centers, as well as the worldwide transportation network that moves the U.S. Mail.
Vogel began his career with the Postal Service in 1969 as a clerk/carrier in Boston, MA, while working his way through college. He joined the Postal Service�s Management Intern Program in 1975, serving in Brooklyn, NY, and Manchester, NH. He has served in numerous management positions in operations and logistics in New York City, Boston, Chicago, Connecticut, Michigan, and most recently, Washington, DC.
Vogel earned a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from Boston State College and a Master of Science degree in business management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan Fellows Program.
