Paul Weber is a senior managing director in FTI's Corporate Finance practice and is based in San Francisco. Mr. Weber professional experience includes providing accounting, auditing and reorganization advisory services to a wide variety of large and small business entities in diverse industries, including high technology, manufacturing, real estate, construction, syndication, agriculture, government contracting, oil exploration and mining, import/export and financial institutions.
Mr. Weber has worked on several investigation/dispute and litigation support engagements involving forensic analysis, accounting analysis and cost accounting analysis as they relate to various claims involving construction litigation and claims, trust operations, loan processing/mortgage servicing operations, related party transactions and alleged fraud matters, calculation of damages, lender liability claims, insurance litigation, forensic accounting, insurance claims and business interruption, analysis of corporate capitalization and analysis of business operations. Work has included providing oral and written testimony in court, arbitration/mediation and regulatory proceedings.
Mr. Weber has also worked on a variety of bankruptcy/reorganization and out-of-court restructuring engagements, including performing crisis management functions, the preparation and analysis of detail cash flow projections, preparation and analysis of comprehensive business plans, estate management/distribution agent, performance/management of treasury and financial reporting functions, analysis of debtor solvency and preparation and analysis of restructuring alternatives (including analysis of the income tax ramifications).
With respect to general consulting and auditing, special task responsibilities have included the examination of financial statements; the preparation, review and evaluation of financial statements; the review and evaluation of internal accounting controls (and the development of recommendations); the preparation and review of financial forecasts; and small business problem identification and analysis.
Mr. Weber was a partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers until it sold the U.S. division of the Business Recovery Services group to FTI in 2002. Mr. Weber joined PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1981 and served on a tour of duty in Lima, Peru, for approximately 20 months on the firm's International Service Program.
Mr. Weber holds a B.S. in business administration from California State University, Chico, where he graduated as the university's valedictorian. Mr. Weber is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California State Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Turnaround Management Association.
