Ms. Kwan, a native of Hong Kong, is an honors graduate of Cal State Fresno with a B.S. in Business Administration. She began her career with Zenith working in their customer service department. She quickly learned the importance of the word "service" and was soon promoted to manager of her department. Her first experience with surplus lines came in 1974 when she worked for an MGA, Wetzel Surplus Lines. She was the office manager. In 1975 she went to S.L. Alexander as an original employee of the newly formed surplus lines broker. She did a little of everything from managing the office, to keeping the books, to brokering business. She soon acquired a reputation as one who was able to get things done quickly so she began devoting all her time to brokering. She was instrumental in S.L. Alexander's success as one of their largest producers, a Vice President, and a member of the Board of Directors. In 1987, S.L. Alexander was acquired by Stewart Smith West with Ms. Kwan joining the new firm as a Vice President. She joined Lemac & Associates' Los Angeles office in January, 1990 and was promoted to Executive Vice President in March, 1997. |
