Pauline started her artistic training by rummaging through her mother's art book collection as a child. Later, armed with degrees in computer programming from Cornell and UC Berkeley, Pauline's technical training landed her a job as a software designer at Robert Abel & Associates, the pioneering motion graphics firm which laid the foundation for today's computer graphics industry.
In 1987, Pauline and five former Abel co-workers founded Rhythm & Hues Studios, which has grown to become one of the entertainment industry's leading producers of computer generated visual effects and character animation for movies and commercials. The studio won an Academy Award in 1995 for its work on "Babe," (Achievement in Visual Effects), and was nominated in the same category in 2005 for its work on "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe."
Today, Pauline combines her love of art with a finely honed technical acumen, in a broad spectrum of projects for the studio, and is actively involved in the creative development of Rhythm & Hues' feature film and television properties. Among her numerous credits, Pauline has served as an Art Director and Lighting Technical Director on the Coca-Cola "Polar Bear" commercials and Disney's Animal Kingdom centerpiece attraction "It's Tough to be a Bug" in Orlando, Florida.. |
