Mr. Per Wold-Olsen is a senior global executive with internationally recognized track record in pharmaceutical industry. From 1973 to 2006 Mr. Per Wold-Olsen held various management and executive positions with increased responsibilities at Merck and Co., Inc. Prior to joining Glyconix Corp., he was a Merck President, Human Health Intercontinental, responsible for Merck�s Human Health business in Europe, Eastern Europe, Middle East/Africa, India, Latin America and Canada, with 2005 sales of $7 billion (USD) and an employment base of 15,000, with employees in over 100 markets and fully integrated subsidiaries in 46 countries. In addition, as a member of Merck�s global leadership team, played integral role in managing Merck�s global business portfolio during times of significant growth and significant challenge and change for the company. Also responsible for Merck�s Worldwide Human Health Marketing function (which includes global franchise marketing, market research, business intelligence, medical and scientific affairs, clinical development, outcomes research) and economic and industrial policy, as well as Merck�s European policy office in Brussels. Mr. Wold Olsen served as leader of the company�s Worldwide Policy Strategy Team, with responsibility for articulation and oversight of strategy for Merck�s developing world initiatives (including HIV/AIDS). Mr. Per Wold-Olsen is a member of the Supervisory Board of Royal Dutch Numico, a member of Bankinvest Biomedical Venture Advisory Board and recently he was elected as a Chairman of H. Lundbeck A/S, an international pharmaceutical company. Mr. Per Wold-Olsen serves on several other Advisory Boards and Board of Directors. Mr. Per Wold-Olsen received his MBA degree in Economics and Administration from Norwegian School of Management in 1972 and MBA in Management and Marketing from University of Wisconsin in 1973. He also completed a Senior Management Programs from Oslo Business School in 1980, Harvard University in 1984 and Templeton College, Oxford University in 1987. |
