Peter A. Caro is a partner in the firm�s real estate practice, which he heads. He also practices in the corporate and nonprofit organizations areas. Mr. Caro advises real estate developers, investors and users in a broad array of real estate matters, with clients including private developers, investors, institutional lenders, charities, and closely held and public business entities. His practice encompasses entity formation and syndication, property acquisition, due diligence, financing, permitting, development, leasing and disposition. His permitting work has included appearances before planning boards, zoning boards of appeals and like municipal bodies in Ayer, Belmont, Boston, Brookline, Cambridge, Chelsea, Concord, Everett, Newton and Watertown, among others. Mr. Caro has particular experience in advising nonprofit organizations in real estate development matters and in representing borrowers in securitized loan transactions. He also represents institutional lenders in asset-based and real estate loan transactions, and his corporate practice includes serving as outside general counsel to diverse businesses, including service and manufacturing companies. Mr. Caro grew up in the Boston area and attended the Buckingham Browne & Nichols School and Phillips Academy, Andover. He received a B.A. from Georgetown University and graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law. Mr. Caro has served on governing bodies of a number of nonprofit institutions. He is currently on the Executive Committee of, and serves as an officer in the position of Counsel to, the Massachusetts Golf Association. He is a member of the Massachusetts and Alabama State Bars. |
