Peter F. Healey, Jr. is a specialist in complex civil litigation, labor and employment law, arbitration, alternative dispute resolution and federal regulatory agency practice. For a variety of corporate and non-profit clients, he litigates a broad array of matters at administrative hearings and before many federal and state courts with particular emphasis on the defense of tort, contract, employment and labor law claims on behalf of management. A long-time resident of Washington, D.C. and a past president of a prominent Washington, D.C. trial lawyers organization.
As advisor, negotiator, advocate and litigator, Mr. Healey engages in the full range of labor representation including NLRB matters (both representation and unfair labor practice charges), union organization issues, Office of Federal Contract Compliance proceedings, collective bargaining contract negotiations, grievance arbitration, and intellectual property matters. He is also a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, and a member of the Litigation and Employment Law sections of the American Bar Association. He handles labor matters of every description at administrative hearings before numerous state and federal agencies and before many federal and state courts. His federal and state court trial and appellate litigation experience includes representation of employers in class action matters; age, sex, race and disability cases; Equal Pay Act and Fair Labor Standards Act matters; employee benefit plans; workers compensation and unemployment compensation claims; Occupational Health and Safety Act issues; employment at will charges; jury trials; and the defense of arbitration cases. He regularly provides general advice on the full spectrum of employment and labor law issues, including personnel policies and procedures, and has conducted numerous seminars covering these subject areas. His practice also includes representation of employers in the conduct of internal investigations as well as in the planning and implementation of corporate reorganizations.
Mr. Healey works closely with the sizeable labor and employment group of Armstrong Teasdale and regularly represents clients before the major government agencies in Washington, D.C. charged with enforcement of the nation�s employment and labor laws. |
